Description
The Maestro - this is simply what the profession called Ennio Morricone, who is not only the pride of Italy in his homeland, but also the composer of the century. His masterpieces composed for hundreds of films still resonate in people's ears today. Most of his music has grown well beyond films, taking on an independent life, becoming the top of hit and record lists. The Maestro, who knew no genre boundaries, showed his talent in comedy, drama, crime, as well as in science fiction, horror films or war stories. Morricone was undoubtedly an indispensable figure in the film world: he made what was manifested on the film tape sound in musical notes, and even often improved the possible shortcomings of the script or the visual presentation with musical effects. That is why he became the Maestro, whose work was honored with an Oscar Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007. In reality, however, he was not the least bit interested in glory. The extremely modest musician was showered with all praise. He was an infinitely humble man who devoted his entire life to composing for the entertainment of the public. The book presents through interesting stories the little boy who was considered a prodigy at school, after he had already composed music at the age of six. Ennio - who actually wanted to be a doctor - often played the trumpet in night bars to support his impoverished family. During the war, they often had nothing to eat. In the beginning, the composer, who worked under the pseudonyms Dan Savio and Leo Nichols, believed that his music came from a mysterious, otherworldly world. We follow the trail of this world to learn the secrets of the composer of the century and also to unravel why the world-famous Italian composer, who loved Hungarians extremely, declared: "My heart belongs to Budapest!" Levente Király is a Hungária and San Gennaro Award-winning journalist, director, and editor. He has worked, among others, in the editorial departments of Ablak, Évgyűrők, Napi Mozaik, Nappali, Híradó, Múlt-kor, Sortársak, Jelfogo, Jónak lenni jó, but has also tried his hand at scientific, cultural, and even sports programs. He met Arnold Schwarzenegger, interviewed Bud Spencer, Terence Hill, Jean-Paul Belmondo, and Claudia Cardinale. He is currently a featured editor of MTVA's Featured Projects Main Editorial Team and a reporter for Kossuth Rádió.
